When I first started getting into flashlights on a forum, I often saw ZebraLights mentioned as the best ones. I found this really surprising, because I saw only average specs in a small, lightweight body for a hefty price. I guess you have to “grow into” these lights.

And now, after a few years of this hobby, I’m finally holding my first Zebra in my hands.

The body is top-notch, though I’m not a fan of the fine “skilhunt-like” knurling on the tail cap.

The beam is almost perfect for this brightness and size. It’s a reflector, of course, but the range is impressive.

The light is just like a nice bined 719a. Not NTG, of course, but there are no real drawbacks.

The controls are easy to remember right away, though they take a little getting used to. The modes are good, and the ability to edit them is very useful. The moonlight modes are very practical. It lacks a shortcut to turbo mode from the on position.

It’s truly a top-tier flashlight, and you’ll hardly find anything better in this size range.

+Quality
+Size, weight
+Efficient driver with good controls and modes
+Good light with a balanced beam
±No built-in charging (not everyone needs it, and it would affect the dimensions)
±Own UI
-No magnet (you can glue one on)
-No shortcut to high mode from on
-Single clip position (but that wasn’t a problem for me at all)
