Since that spring sale at sofirn had the SC13 with the nichia 519a on sale for 9.99, I had to give it a try. Right off the rip, for 9.99, I have no idea how you could possibly beat the SC13. The tint, to my eyes is perfectly neutral. Excellent. Nice brightness though I suspect its a good bit less than the 1100 they claim. Perfectly adequate though. The fresnel lens is really interesting and makes a nice hotspot with a few rings around. Doesn't bother me. The finish is very nice and the black clip looks nice though I cant say I love the clip. The button, wow. The button is excellent. Maybe the best feeling button ive ever felt on a flashlight. Its the perfect click and no mushy slop. I hate the charge port cover but it is what it is. I dont like the easy to catch flap which isnt a problem if you rotate the clip over it but then you cant easily clip it over a pants pocket. Compared to my Baton 4 its alot chunkier and just barely longer. The magnetic tailcap is adequate but not excellent. The Baton easily has way more sticking power from the magnetic tail. The thing that really sets the SC13 apart from the Baton is its emitter though. If you choose the 519a and shine the two next to each other, the tint of the Baton 4 is easily noticeable. Now I dont really notice the tint as it shows up on the camera but its a good illustration of the difference between 5000k and probably 6500k-7000k. Overall, I think I still like my Baton better but the SC13 is very good and especially for the price. Thats 9.99 vs 37 bucks (on sale at the time). If I get time later ill do a beam shot comparison off my back porch.

I should have mentioned, 1st pic is moonlight, 2nd pic is both on turbo, 3rd pic is medium and for reference the Baton 4 is rated at 1300lm on turbo and the nichia 519a flavored SC13 is rated at 1100lm on turbo.
