For context; I run 90ksi Waterjets and 6-10kw lasers as my “9-5” for the past 8 years. Because I’m a good little shop monkey, I’ve been given a good deal of freedom to fool around.
– I’ve got access to some scrap 1/4” D2, and was looking to make a fixed tanto.
– I cut this a36 blank as a size test
– I was considering pulling the edge of the blade profile further below the handle (wider blade)
– will likely be a flat grind, as I’ve never ground blade geometry before
– how would you change this design?

Index finger groove is too small and too high up. Sharp corners on the grip are not gonna be comfortable.
