The KR1AA is SFT-70 3000K and the D2 has a mix of NTG35 5000K & SFT-25R 5000K.
I've been worried about the issues I've been seeing with people's KR1AA v2 experience lately – I seem to have gotten lucky, so far. I dropped in a fresh K10 and after giving the tailcap a good tighten, it fired right up. The button is a bit odd to get used to, but since I use the full pad of my finger, it responds fine. I'm pleased with how low I can get the moonlight and I look forward to seeing how the beam looks tonight… It's quite nice around the house so far. Fingers crossed I don't run into problems – I'd hate to turn this thing into a beater or a paperweight, even though I know Hank will make it right if needed.
The D2 is a mixed-emitter pair, I was hoping for a bit of a blended beam and maybe a smidge of added rosiness if there's enough variance in their CCT's. I asked Hank about it and he said it does produce a good beam – I'm inclined to believe him so far.
(last pic was the care my package received from GOFO Express – it landed about halfway between him & the doormat and slid the rest of the way… more like GOF** Yourself Express*.)
