Got my first knife, the CJRB Pyrite, and it feels super stiff. I'm pinching the stud with my thumb to flick it out, but it's tough, takes real force and doesn't snap smoothly. Normal break-in period, or something off? Or is my technique wrong? Thanks!

Probably not. Oil up the pivot and if that doesn’t work, loosen the pivot just barely.
Cycle it a bunch with just slow rolls (no flicks) and see what happens. Do you have good Torx bits?
