This guy sat on American Edge’s website for a bit, but after talking with Nick from NCC and finding it still sitting after a few days, I decided I wanted to check it out. The pictures from AE were not terribly flattering and made the colors pop in a way that they don’t in person.
The effect in person is much better, much more balanced. The action is superb. A little on the heavier side like a Talon, but not prohibitively so like a Demko or full titanium Hinderer can be for some.
Edge is on par with some of my Japanese chef knives, in short, all round this was a purchase I wasn’t 100% sold on, but I was floored by how much I actually like it.
They come in thumb stud versions which is my only gripe on this. Not a huge fan of flippers, but this one is satisfying, but I could see myself either requesting a custom re-blade from Nick or purchasing a second one with the studs since I prefer to reverse flick.
They are very expensive though. Outside of my custom builds, this one is one my most expensive.
Overall grade disregarding price: 9/10
