New, over 2 year old knife

I though this was interesting. I purchased this Reate Exo OG about a week ago and it got delivered a couple days ago. They are now in stock in at least 2 stores. The large OG model has been impossible to find in this configuration for over a year. I was wondering if Reate actually had these built and ready to sell, but for some reason were holding them back. Is it possible that we are being sold old inventory knives and we don’t know it? Does it even matter? In my case, I don’t care. I’m juts happy to finally have one. It juts made me wonder why it took over 2 years for Reate to start selling a knife that they built over 2 years ago.
