Last night I lost my 3rd Fenix EDC flashlight, due to the crappy Fenix pocket clip design. This is getting expensive.

This is the light I have been using for years and before this LD12 version I was using the older model the LD10, which I also liked and but had a much better metal clip, instead of the weak flimsy plastic clip on the LD12. I do like the quality of the light and the compactness and brightness, but if you keep having it fall out of your pants pocket, well thats an issue. I do a lot of bending.

I am looking for a light that has several modes of brightness to choose from, is compact and runs on a single 14500 or AA battery that can be very bright but can also be dimmed down. I guess I need to look at some other brand. Looking for something similar to the below link that has served me for many years.

How useful was that side light at 90 degrees from the clip?

    Streamlight microstream. Aaa battery or
Streamlight protac 1aa. Aa battery and multiple modes

Manker E05 is very nice light, and a pocket clip that holds on for dear life.

My 14500/AA is a Nitecore MT1A Pro and I really like it.
It’s a simple and sturdy, no gimmicks model.
    50-300-800 lumens.
It has no charging port, the provided 14500 has it instead, maybe this helped the rating because it’s IP68.
Well defined hotspot, more throwy than floody. Positive DUV but closer to white than I expected.
I never use the clip on this one but in my experience Nitecores have very tight clips, so thight that they might scratch the anodization a bit when installing them.

  5. Look at ec150 on Nichia, the clip is meh but the light is solid.

or if crappy driver is not a problem, then the fwaa is an option, but we don’t know the date it will be available back ( we just know that is should come back )

I usually carry fwaa on my belt outside, in the summer.

Clips are nice but having the ability to just slide them out then causes loss. That’s an issue separate from what light you would currently like to use.

I’ve had AAA Streamlights fall out, and last week getting firewood the new Wuben X4 pushed up out of my pocket when I was squatting to pick up some firewood off the ground. It has a great clip MOLLE compatible and the mil crowd use locking devices to keep things like that attached to packs – everything in the outdoors tries to steal your gear. I’ve considered a spare mag pouch taco style.

Im really enjoying the Emissar D3AA, can use both 14500 or AA batteries and a large ammount of choices of emitter to choose from
