I grabbed myself an SR12 and got it home looking forward to testing it.

It had more rings than Saturn.
I kept reading how great it was and how it was some people's favourite light, at the same time reading how many people shared my opinion.
Looking at the beam pattern, the LED was really off-centre.
Centering made it not so ugly but still with rings and the hotspot was washed out much over 50m.
Then I read some enthusiasts were swapping out the gasket – mine didn't even have a gasket!
One gasket later and the beam is great and it held its own when I tested it over 100m with a bunch of Convoys.
There are definitely quality control issues with the SR12 but at the end of the day it's a decent light.
