This was my first “knife” knife back in like 2019 maybe. I thought it was super sick at first but kind of got over carrying a knife for a while. It lived in my truck til last year started carrying it more and honestly I don‘t think it’s worth the price point or the hype. I got a pm2 last November and it’s better in every aspect. Just my opinion, no hate!

You’re not going to get any hate from me. I moved on from Benchmade several years ago.

I feel the same way, got one on sale just to see what the hype was, not only was I not impressed, I almost hate it. It’s the denim micarta variant, and it’s a good looking knife, but for my use, the geometry is dildos. So dull it couldn’t cut water. Even after putting an edge on it, I can’t dig it. Probably gonna gift it to someone

I think most people don’t know but the 940 is a pretty old Osborn design. It was cutting edge (pun) for 26 years ago when it came out.

It’s kinda amazing that it’s still as relevant as it is in 2026.

I still have one I bought in 2000 as “knife of the month” and it’s a super cool blue aluminum handle and 154CM steel. It’s numbered 88/100.

  4. Stock too thick, blade not tall enough, grind not aggressive enough.

    Nice profile though.
