Ever found yourself indecisive about what light to buy to achieve your ideal beam profile? Good news for you, I've made a calculator that lets you see the beam* of any reflector-based** light without spending a single cent!
All the info you need is (1) reflector diameter, (2) reflector height, and (3) emitter diameter***; these dimensions are usually easily found in 1Lumen reviews, koef3 LED tests, or Convoy's listings. Enter these values, and the calculator will produce a visual of the beam and show you the hotspot, corona, and spill angles.
*The beam is simulated at a very far out distance, not indoors on a white wall!
**Real-world reflectors may deviate from an ideal paraboloid due to manufacturing imprecision.
***For a square emitter, you get a side length and a diagonal, instead of a single diameter. The resulting beam will be square-ish, and you will need to simulate twice (with side length and with diagonal) to get the beam shape along the side length and diagonal directions.
