Photos show both sides of the blade of my Worksharp RMX in CPM-3V
I’m not fussy about my tools and if it’s just like this now, I’m not upset. It had blue painters tape on it for about 18 hrs. On removing the tape, I noticed the discoloration. Neither isopropyl alcohol nor acetone takes it off.
Curious if anyone has seen this, and is there a remedy? Thanks!

Update: Barkeep’s Friend took it off. My best guess is that the glue in the tape reacted and started to patina? I know this isn’t stainless but the thought hadn’t even occurred to me. Maybe this will help someone some day. 🤷♂️
oh interesting, I just realized I had never noticed the Worksharp logo before. Looks remarkably similar to the Adidas logo.
Anyway, I’ve never had as much trouble as you getting residue off… I guess I would try other cleaners already on hand; if that doesn’t work maybe buy a specialize adhesive remover. I heard there’s a 3M product for that purpose, their stuff usually works.
This thread has many suggestions by people presumably more knowledgeable than me: https://www.signs101.com/threads/best-adhesive-remover.116621/
