I have the older model and I like it you can get a nice edge easily with it, I’m sure the newer aluminum model can only be nicer than the one I have, do be aware the diamond plates will need replaced eventually they just break down with use it’s not something that will happen with light use just something I’ve noticed over 4 years with mine

Fixed angle sharpeners are good most of the time. I believe Pete from Cedric and Ada uses this sharpener to great success.

Whetstones. You need no fixed angle gimmick sharpeners. Just a stone and you pushing a blade against it

I own this exact setup. It’s great and I recommend it 10/10

I fully recommend it, its the system I use and I have done a lot of sharpening on it successfully. Its a little bit of a learning curve but its not as hard as learning to freehand. In fact its much easier to get a knife so sharp that it shaves hair like a razor. I just sharpened my Benchmade Mini Freek in S90V, picture attached. It was dull outta the box from the factory but after a little work on the pro Precision Adjust it is scary sharp now.

  6. Do your research. Very basic starter system and won’t get you far. Clamp sucks and by the time you buy adapters to hold good stones that cost extra along with stones then you have wasted money.. please message me and I will happily explain.
