Wanted to put together a pocketable toolkit for my day to day as an auto tech. I specialize in diagnostics, which means I’m constantly moving around the shop and I wanted to avoid having to run back to my toolbox or drag my cart with me every time I want to do a little task here or there.

From Left to Right:

– 711L flex head mini ratchet with extension + 1/4 drive bit adapter (feels pretty robust for its size so far)

-Magnetic Impact hex extension (mostly used as long handle for ratchet)

– Two additional 711L magnetic extensions (extra reach/torque)

– Klein Metric 8-in-1 flip socket set (Covers a lot of fasteners found in most cars. Center extension shaft also works as a magnetic retrieval tool and sockets can be put on the 711L extension if I don’t need the full length of the extension)

– Knipex 5 inch Cobra pliers (Good grip. Useful for turning some nuts or other plier tasks)

– Generic titanium tweezers (useful for small screws and metal splinters. Titanium just because I like it)

– Galvanox double sided flat bit set (covers a huge range of fasteners at the cost of being not ideal bits. Still works almost all the time and very flat to carry)

– Lactase packets (I like milkshakes and my body does not)

-Small zip ties (very useful for securing wires and small things after repairs)

-Viperade waxed canvas pouch (reasonably tough, cheap pouch. Enough organization to keep everything in its place)

Not Pictured in Pouch:

– 5.5mm hex drive magnetic socket (common size for interior dashboard trim bolts, especially in fords. Rolled out of the picture and I didn’t notice)

Rest of my EDC Not Pictured :

– Pocket Knife (Varies. Often Spyderco Smock with titanium scales)

– Flashlight (typically brass or titanium Reylight Pineapple)

-Pen (One of several titanium pens. Typically a black titanium Peña pen I got as a gift from my husband)

– Titanium pocket pry bar (Olight Opry. Well chamfered edges don’t mar surfaces quite as bad)

– Phone (iPhone 17 Pro Max)

– Wallet ( Purple X-Pac Alpaka pouch. Because I definitely needed to carry multiple pouches)

– Keys (So many keys)

– Gum (enamel restoring gum)
