I'm almost certain that this is a weird fake, but since Gerber quality can be disappointing sometimes… Is there any chance this is not a fake and the shard is just this bad?

I mean I think so but even if it is, does it really matter? This has come up in the sub before and honestly the fakes are basically the same as the real ones. Maybe even better as gerber already uses pretty cheap steel. It’s hard to make it much cheaper.
It’s likely the exact same thing as the real ones or close to it. Functionally about 95% the same.
