I want to get some custom serrations added to the back of my fighter, but I messaged a sharpening business and they said "it cannot be done"

So I'm here asking 3 things.

1: is he correct?
2: does anybody know where I could find a place or business that will accomodate my request?
3: is asking for custom serrations to be added onto a knife that has already been heat treated and sharpened too big of an ask?

The pictures shown are of a custom piece owned by the actual designer of the knife, I am simply trying to replicate what he has had done to his.

Thank you for your time.

  1. I say buy some round files and do it yourself. There has to be a tutorial on serations on ytb and these look pretty simple to me.

Edit: If so you can even contact the designer and ask for advice (on tools and such)

  2. You can do it yourself just take your time and quench frequently so you don’t burn out the heat treat.
