Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some help identifying a flashlight that belonged to my dad in the late 1990s / early 2000s.
The original is long gone, so I recreated the shape as accurately as I could in the attached image.
Key details I remember clearly:
• Uses 1×CR123A (or same-size rechargeable like 16340/16350)
• Incandescent / xenon bulb (not LED — it got very hot quickly)
• Head diameter is the same as the body (no wider bezel)
• Flat glass lens (not protruding)
• Front section is smooth; only the rear half has thick, rounded rings (not knurling)
• Glossy black metal finish (not matte tactical)
• Soft rubber tail switch with no clicky feel
• Only the tailcap unscrews
• Short and slightly chunky overall
This was likely an OEM / no-name or small-brand flashlight, possibly sold in Taiwan or Japan around 1999–2003 through outdoor, medical, or airsoft shops.
I’m not necessarily expecting a perfect brand/model match — even recognizing the shell, OEM origin, or seeing an old photo or catalog scan of something similar would mean a lot.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any memories or leads you might have!
