Hi, I'm a Ranger (Girlguiding) in the UK. I've just got my overnight licence and am taking a few other Rangers away with me on a camping trip.

We'll be in a forest clearing and mostly need light for cooking and maybe general getting ready for bed in a tent.

Do any of you have a recommendation for a flashlight for this? Ideally it'd be fairly cheap and have a decent battery life, but I understand that's sometimes tricky! Thanks in advance.

Image is pretty much unrelated, but it was taken with a friend's flashlight.

Some really great budget lights would be either the [**Wurkkos TS28**](https://wurkkos.com/products/wurkkos-ts28-3200-lumens-506m-edc-flashlight?srsltid=AfmBOoq5egT8O2AWM_Z9aCTjQJL6qTVg2K5P-AenS91qSyfYvAEXZIWQ&VariantsId=12102), if you need range, good spill, and solid sustained output, or the [**TS26S**](https://wurkkos.com/products/wurkkos-ts26s-edc-flashlight) if you want a nice floody beam with high-CRI for close-up work.

They both feature USB-C charging and a magnetic tailcap.

  2. Check out headlamps. They keep your hands free and are more useful for camping situations.
