Let’s hear it!

Most of us carry a knife every day for the utility and honestly because we like it. Most of the time it gets used for pretty mundane stuff, but every once in a while, there’s a moment where a knife is genuinely the best tool for the job and it actually saves the day. So let’s hear your very best story on how your knife saved the day!

I’ll start. Short story, but a good one.

I was outside playing with my nieces and nephews and they wandered into the workshop. Somehow one of my nephews got ahold of some zip ties and decided it was a great idea to cinch one tight around his wrist. Understandably, he started screaming as his hand began turning purple and we needed it off immediately.

I had a Kershaw Leek on me and I’ll say this up front, I DO NOT recommend doing this! The Leek is extremely pointy and definitely not a blunt blade. At the time, I didn’t think scissors would fit under the zip tie because it was that tight. I slipped another zip tie underneath the one around his wrist to act as a guide so the tip wouldn’t puncture him, angled the blade upward, and carefully popped it off without touching him. Scary moment for him, pretty cool moment for me and the knife saved the day and everyone was good.

    Now your turn.
