Any light recommendations that would be about the same size diameter as the old school Maglite that could fit in the side holder without sliding all the way out? Wouldn’t mind being about in inch shorter too. Thank you in advance!

Pretty much most of the 14500 lights. They will come with a clip too that will make it not fall through the loop.
However, I still cannot find the perfect 14500 light. So far they all have been a little lacking in different areas.
My latest is the manker E05-II. Great emitter, great color, but the modes are super lame. Cannot remember what the packaging says but they are, to my eyes, 5% 40% 100%. And just like every other modern flashlight 40% and 100% are very close to brightness. Making this flashlight in essence having only a low and high mode. I really want it with like a 15% medium
Convoy T8. Same body size as the T6 but has a larger diameter head giving it better performance. Or if you look at something like the Wurkkos HD10 if you want USB-C charging and it is right angled so you can use it while it’s holstered.
