I got a new convoy s2+ with a b35am emitter earlier this week and noticed it developed a dark spot. Did it burn? I know it's quite fragile, but with the 2A driver it was supposed so be fine. What exactly do I do in this situation? Do I contact Convoy for warranty, or do I just use the 50% max group and hope it doesn't get worse?

Yup, this is why I dislike b35am. Why people insist on using these emitters when 519a is available is beyond me.
Use your light until it burns up (if it ever does), then replace the light and/or swap the mcpcb with a new one. The nice thing about Convoys is that they’re super easy to work on, and swapping a mcpcb is literally just 2 little solder dabs. I wouldn’t bother with warranty over a burn spot on an emitter known for burning up.
my b35am s2+ had the exact same spot appear.
i emailed simon and he told me to try cleaning with alcohol . i cleaned but spot still there.
going on 6 months and it has not quit or worsened. Simon offered a replacement but i said i’d run it and let him know if it gets worse.
he’s the best with warranties.
that being said i still prefer this to 519a. something about the b35 tint looks so RIGHT
