Lately I’ve realized my EDC is basically a core pouch I move between my sling and my work backpack—I got tired of forgetting small essentials when switching bags.
When I bring the work backpack, a couple tools end up duplicated (mainly a flashlight + multitool), and honestly I’m fine with it—backups in the bigger bag feel worth the extra weight.

Core pouch (Viperade VE1-OW):

  • USB‑C cable
  • Metal mechanical pencil
  • Parker Jotter pen
  • Gerber Dime
  • Olight i3T
  • Zippo Classic 250
  • 5,000 mAh wireless power bank (Essager)
  • 512GB Movespeed SSD
  • USB adapters (USB‑C, USB‑A, micro‑USB)
  • microSD card reader
  • A few plastic zip ties

Curious how others do it: do you prefer one core pouch that moves between bags, or separate dedicated loadouts for each bag so you never have to swap anything?
And what’s the one item you always duplicate on purpose?

I’m pretty sure I’m in the minority here, prove me wrong.

I do the same thing. I’m reminded of those nesting Russian dolls 🪆.

I have multiple pouches that each have a purpose. Tool pouch, FAK, general edc pouch, hiking oriented 10 essentials pouch. I mix and match into the bag I’m taking depending on what I’m doing.

I have a basics pouch that I always try to have in whatever bag I’m carrying, I go bigger or smaller with the bag depending on what activity I’m doing.
