I was just doing my homework under a black light, as any normal person does, and got spooked my mysterious pink splotches that only showed under the black light. Does anyone know what it is?
This struck my curiousity and I did a before and after test. My knowledge in UV reactive material is lacking but apparently certain colors are indicative of certain materials and substances not just minerals and excretions as I thought. I noticed a couple red spots as well as an overlaying faint red pattern when UV light filtered with ZWB2 was applied.
|Fluorescence Color|Potential Cause| |:-|:-| |Bright Pink / Red|Porphyrins (mold/bacteria) or specific red inks| |Dull Yellow / Green|Adhesives, oils, or certain proteins| |Bright Blue / White|Standard paper brighteners (OBAs)|
