I haven’t tested this knife much but if tested it enough to know if I’ll keep carrying it. I’ve only used it to do light food prep while camping, opening packages, and believe it or not, cut up young sugar cane stalks. The last test is what impressed me the most. The handle looks like it might slip, but in real life practical use, my hand didn’t budge, had a firm grip and I felt safe at all times. The coating obviously got scuffed, but only slightly. The centering is exactly as it should, the lock kept safe, and the edge is still as smooth as it was when I bought it. I’m surprised at the heat treat Civivi does on their nitro v, and I live in a small coastal country, so the corrosion resistance makes it perfect for me. It’s also extremely fidgety and easy to disassemble, and including the stop pin on the blade and using the liners as a stop is genius. On a scale of 1-3, I’d rate this knife a comfortable 2. It’s obviously not perfect (wish for a better steel, prefer Micarta grips, would prefer a construction that doesn’t include a back spacer, a top liner lock would be a better locking system, and a better point since the spade point is weird) but it’s very close to being such.
