Could be as simple as a bad heat treatment wearing more easily than the steel should with a good temper. Just looks like a knife that’s been used, doesn’t look particularly rough.

Looks more like scuff marks or residue on the bevel, if that’s what you’re referring to.

My roxon did this too until I rearranged the tools so it wouldnt hit anything anymore. I was hitting it on the file on closing it 😭
