Hi all,
So I just inherited my great-grandfather's knife from Norway. I was just looking at some advice on it. The handle is broken, so it's free-floating below the black section, which is a wrapped piece of leather from many years ago. I just want the knife repaired so it's in better condition. What should I be looking for in a craftsman to get this work done or should I just leave it as is?
Any idea on helping find some history about the blade would be really appreciated as well. I have absolutely no info left from the family either.
Thanks!!

With a welding machine you could repair the stick tang easily. But then there’s the handle. Your best option is to find a good blade smith that can forge weld the tang and repair the handle. Keep it authentic.
