I’ve been using this for the past couple of years for automotive work and everyday tasks, but I’m looking to try something new. It doesn’t need to be rechargeable, and I’d prefer something with longer battery life. I’m open to a larger size.

There are *soooo* many things we could recommend… The more you can tell us about what you want, the better. Is there a size limit? Would you like a side button, or a tailcap button like this one? Do you like cool light, or warm light? Do you want smooth, diffused light, or a bright hotspot in the middle of the beam? Is it important in your specific automotive work to render colors accurately?

My recommendation that can have two brightness levels like this light, has a tailswitch, has a similar beam pattern, and goes up one battery size, would be a [Convoy T3](https://convoylight.com/products/convoy-t3-black-aa-14500-flashlight?data_from=app_searchbox&spm=app_searchbox.T3.products.3.). I would select 519A for the LED, 5000K for the temperature, and the “12-group” option, since that would give you the option to have two brightness levels. I would probably use a rechargeable AA, though this light can also run a lithium-ion battery (14500). Even a AA will probably give you longer runtimes than the Microstream USB, since I used to carry one, and always hated the battery life.

Let me know if you have any more questions, or more preferences for what you’re looking for.
