Same reason female name Darcy is pronounced Dar-see.
In no world is this Door-key.
My old roommate used to call it “door-sigh” like how you’d read the word “rely” or “cry”
It’s pronounced door-see.  I remember their lights and bicycle stuff since the 70s.
