First legit flashlight. Bought this one for around the house and especially for the laser for my cat. Looking to choose between the TS28 and TS26s for the truck, outdoors, general use. Open to other suggestions but not sure if I need a flashlight that has more throw or a light that has more flood. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Ts26s more uses+high cri.
TS28 any day.
It’s got enough flood but a good throw.
At a pinch you can use a floody thrower for anything you can use a flooder for, but you can’t make a flooder throw.
It really depends on the range you need. Even if it’s just occasionally, if you need to light something up more than 100 meters away, only the TS28 can handle that, the TS26S doesn’t provide enough usable light at that distance.
On the other hand, if you’re just using it around your truck, indoors, or for walking, I’d definitely go with the TS26S. It has a much more pleasant beam profile without a harsh hotspot, and the Nichia 519A 5000K emitters offer excellent color rendering for close-up work.
I have a comparison between the TS28 and an E07X. The E07X is a flooder with almost the same beam shape as the TS26S, so you can see exactly what I mean.
