I honestly have no clue how it happened to my Nitecore EDC27. I always keep it in lock level 1.
Any thoughts on what might cause this?

The plastic lens melted, you probably forgot it was turned on
How old? I know some plastics do weird things when they get old, but that looks like heat damage to me.
Maybe it was left in a couple times and batt died?
I had issues with my button on my 23 and they replaced it. They seem to have decent warranty service if it’s not too old.
