  1. It’s SOG. There’s like 3,000 companies that make a higher quality product for similar or less money. Shop around.

For $215 there’s better USA made knives to consider.

I actually like a couple SOG knives I got, the One-Zero XR and the Hidaka XR. But only worth it if you get at least a 20% or 30% off coupon code. Or find it used for half price like I did for the One-Zero XR.

It’s a knife. Why do you think you need a $200 fixed blade?

Nu-SOG is a far cry from what it was years ago. You can get much more knife for $200 elsewhere.

Solid knife.Don’t let the SOG haters discourage you.Now the msrp is overpriced and you can find these blades far cheaper.

  7. It’s a decent knife. I think I paid about $100 on midway for mine. Really it’s a cool factor thing. The edge geometry doesn’t offer any particular advantages. It could be considered a tactical style of blade shape and it’s heavy so I don’t carry it often. The sheath is excellent tho I will say that.

The blackout pillar was/might still be on sale for $87 from SOG themselves. I just sent it, and got it in hand, it’s significantly nicer than expected, and it’s a great size. Overall very much worth it at $87

Who cares what “we” think. Does it appeal to you? That’s really all that matters. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen *any* knife posted here that didn’t have people bitching about the price etc.

SOG got kinda a bad rep for a bit because their Chinese stuff wasn’t great. But I’ve enjoyed every SOG USA I’ve owned and have beat the tar out of them without a single issue. They’re redeemed in my book.

I would watch Midway USA for sales, they’re frequent and pretty deep.
