So my wife ordered some stuff from a company called Northern Knife, which appears to sell very stylized kitchen cutlery. I've never heard of the brand, but they feel very heavy and sturdy. My question is, can anyone here attest to their quality?

Northern knife or norther knives? From my understanding one of them is based in Alaska and makes cool shit and the other is based in China and makes cheap knives.

  2. Those are nice, I like that feather blade for a slicier chef’s knife. Seems they use high carbon steel, 1080 in that feather knife. Should hold up well and maintain a good edge, however just ensure you wash and dry them after each use and don’t be surprised by some patina, especially if you use them on fruits/veggies or fatty meats.

Northern Knife is not the same as Northern Knives, so these are most likely not as great of materials, but still look very cool! Northern Knife is most likely a Chinese company masquerading as a Viking-style shop, esp considering the address on their site is for a random office park in Newark, Delaware.

Whether or not your wife lost money on the purchase…if you care a lot about the materials, then maybe? But if you like the look and they work well for your use-case, that’s completely a subjective thing.

This is pure shit. Your wife bought crap for way too much money. Even if this was cheap, it was too expensive.

Return this and get your money back, then get some actual knives.

    Goodluck!

Edit: I just checked the website; yeah this is crap.

Keep in mind that many imported cheap knives contain lead, which is less than ideal for kitchen use. Be careful.
