My EDC (Everyday Carry) changes depending on whether I'm on duty, have regular free time, or am out in nature. For everyday use, I carry an ESEE 3 in its standard sheath with a Techlock. I always carry an Olight i3t as a small light source, which I prefer for EDC because of its replaceable batteries. The small pen is also from Olight. I carry the pen and light together with the LM Arc on my belt. I need the Arc on duty because I often only have one hand free and need to act quickly (otherwise, I usually carry a Rebar, more on that later). In addition, I carry a Nextorch flashlight, an HK P2000, and various other items. My everyday watch is a standard Casio; it lasts forever, and it's not a big deal if it breaks. I carry a Böker Atlas Copper as a small pocket knife, which I mainly use to cut food while out and about.
As soon as I head into the woods, my setup changes. I've been collecting (and using!) knives since I was a teenager. Because of my connection to Scandinavia, I particularly favor puukkos. This one is my Ahti Vaara. It's not expensive and has never let me down on several multi-week trips. Batoning is also no problem, despite the lack of a full tang (lightweight for long distance walk). The raised Scandi grind is perfect for wood, but also works very well for food preparation compared to a standard Scandi grind. I've replaced the arc with my modified LM Rebar (plus a bit changer, micro bit (with a notch, usable as a coarse needle), and scissors) because I don't need quick access to the blade and, in my opinion, it can withstand more dirt than the arc. The lighter weight is also a plus. I'm attached to this thing. I got it from a good friend for my birthday nine years ago and have carried it almost every day since. The leather sheath for the knife and the leather pouch are handmade. I also carry a ferro rod and a BIC lighter. I carry an LED Lenser H8R as a flashlight, since I often walk the dogs in the dark before or after work. That's it, pretty simple, but sufficient for me.
