I recently bought the Q8+ in the Amazon Black Friday sale for $100 aud and hadn’t had a chance to try it until last night when I took it to a bushfire with me.
This thing was perfect, in the pitch black of the Australian bush you need a torch that’s not only reliable but also powerful. This is that torch!
The main reason it was so successful in this environment is its high sustained output compared to other torches. I could confidently kick this thing into one of its higher modes without being scared of draining the battery.
And thanks to its high lumens it was floody but also could punch through the darkness to allow us to see tree lines far away.
The size is pretty perfect too, the large body made it easy to find and operate with gloves on however it was just small enough to be able to comfortably store it in the pocket of my tunic.
Overall I am VERY pleased with the Q8+ and although there may be some torches with better specs than it I can’t vouch for them like I can the Q8+!
