There should be like a safety lmetal eaf in-between the two metal pieces on the handle on the sharp side of the blade that holds the bottom part of the blade up. Move it to the side and it should go down. But be careful to not cut yourself

It looks like a liner lock, is there a ridged piece on the inside of the handle that is holding the blade in place?
