Maeerxu R7 is a strange light

I got this Maeerxu R7 from Ali Express. It looks to be a rip-off of a Twosun light that is bigger (knife company). It's a really weird one; the host is ti, and really nicely machined. The internals are an absolute disaster! There is no pill or shelf, the emitter is mounted to the back of the driver board. The tail switch is some weird double wonkily stacked board affair. Huge beads and chunks of solder everywhere. The emitter is an XPG2. It's a very chunky AAA light. I'm trying to work out if I can make a decent light out of it for fun. The head will take a mounted emitter from a convoy T3, but not the driver which is a larger diameter.
