I bought this HL60R headlamp in 2019 and have used it exclusively since then for farming, mechanic, and handyman work. I average 1-2 hours/day wearing it; sometimes as much as 6-8 hours/day. I've bought a total of five batteries for it, and three of them are still in regular rotation.

$60 for the headlamp and one battery, $45 for the wall charger and two batteries, $20 for two additional batteries (due to misuse), $30 for replacement headbands. That's $155 total, $26/year, or 7 cents/day. I've used about $1.08 worth of electricity to charge the headlamp batteries over the past six years.

Anyone else have something that runs cheaper than mine has?

  1. Nice math! I have a HL55 from around the same year. Little less used than yours, but still a favourite 😀 Good stuff.

A little throwy for me but a good light nonetheless

Only thing I hate about mine is the micro USB
