I would taper it down a little thinner nearer the blade personally. It looks like its flat in that dimension currently. And maybe a small dip back of the mosaic pin to give it a bit of bulge to jold onto in the middle.

Bout the shittiest material you could use for a chopper and I think it looks WAYY too busy with the Damascus.
I would have used some micarta or ebony or something solid and dark colored
