FC12 usb charge

Hi all,
asked Wurkoss support if I could recharge a 18350 in the FC12 (with a 18350 tube obviously). With great promptness and professionalism they contacted me immediately telling me not to use protected batteries since the torch itself has the protection. So, both the 18650 sold with the torch and the 18350 like the one in the photo (I think it is similar to the Wurkoss 18350) are not protected? I was also wondering if I could recharge a Molicel 18650 directly in the FC12.
