After work, I ride my bike to kids’ daycare and then walk them and my bike home. While crossing the street I felt a little jostle where my knife should be, confirmed that the knife was not there, and turned around to see if it had fallen into the street. It hadn’t. I assumed that I had most likely left it on the desk at work and went on with my evening.

This morning I got on the bike and after half a block felt something rubbing my thigh. Lo and behold! Treacherous bike!

I’ve heard people saying clips make knives more loseable, and it makes sense—without a clip, no part of the knife is outside the pocket—but this is the first time I’ve really believed it.
