This particular light kept showing up on the Aliexpress superdeals section for approx 14usd without battery. Since there’s no English reviews that I could find, thought I’d share a more detailed observation this time around.
Light comes in a pretty wide box for it’s size, plenty of empty space within considering that you only get a manual, some spare orings and a lanyard but it’s good for protection during shipping I think.
Build quality is solid, no flaws that I can see in the anodization. Threads seem to be minimally lubricated so I added some in the tail cap, which also has double orings for better weather resistance.
The head is a tactical style with glass-breaker beads. One thing that surprised me is the glass also has an anti-glare coating applied to it. The emittor seems to be properly centered in the smooth reflector as well.
Spring in the tail cap and metal post on the driver side, the spec sheet lists this as a ‘direct-drive’ so I assume this is a linear/fet driver (not really surprising considering the price). Also advertised is 2200 lumens and 700+ meters of throw, which seems to be the case from a quick outdoor test.
The beam is 6500k with a tiny, intense hotspot with a fairly wide spill. One interesting thing I noticed is if you hold it extremely close to the wall (few inches) there’s additional rings/artifacts that you can observe but is not really visible in practical uses.
Some quirks of this light:
1. Smooth ramping mode only, no stepped modes
2. Led indicator can be turned off or on, but when off, it won’t light up when the flashlight is turned on, and when set to on, it basically stays on indefinitely. This also has a red color to indicate charging and battery low states
All in all pretty impressed by this light for the money that you’re paying. I have a Wurkkos TS23 that’s arriving any day now that’s triple the purchase price of this light, and while that has a boost driver, it remains to be seen how much better the Wurkkos can be overall.
