I have folded out the things I have used or tried to use on each.
Gerber early 2000s , I love how the pliers is easy to deploy and use, the rest is a pain to get to or weird to use.
Sheffield is a great idea but poorly executed, pliers would be good if the handle/drivers edges were chamfered, the drivers aren’t finished well enough to fit in screw heads.
Victorinox spartan, I have only had this a few months so haven’t had need for anything besides blades and the paperclip I added. But this is my favorite by far.
I carry a (when I’m not trying to get by with others) a standard slipjoint pliers.
What multi tool tools do you actually use?

I’ve used everything on the Leatherman Wave except the can opener. And while I have used it, I’m pretty sure I could do without the saw.
So that’s:
* Pliers (including the cutters)
* Knife
* File
* Scissors
* Standard/flat and phillips bits of varying sizes
* Serrated blade (pretty reliable for fabric, and the blunted tip lets me get under things without accidentally stabbing them)
If I had my choice, I would ditch the saw and put some larger scissors in its place. The Surge is almost right, but it’s heavier and you lose the really handy eyeglass sized standard and philips bit.
I carry a Victorinox Explorer. I use the screwdrivers, can opener/scraper/pry tool, scissors, and blade.
On my Leatherman arc I use everything except the can opener. I only keep it on there because of the paranoid voice inside of me that tells me I’ll need it in the apocalypse.
I carry Leatherman Style.
Every now and then I’ll use the scissors for a random dangling thread.
The Phillips for random screws.
And the bottle opener on off chance I’m out and got a bottle of soda (I don’t drink, and the soda ones are often easier to pop off with opener than twist off).
Extremely rare I’d use the knife.
That’s really it
I carry a Victorinox Compact. I’ve used everything on it except for the wire stripper and parcel hook.
