This X1L started life as a XHP70.3 HI 4500k 90 CRI with stock boards. Later I driver swapped the 6v driver to the 3v buck + FET driver from an E07X. This let me swap in an SBT90 on a 20mm board with holes drilled for the Gaggione optic legs. There is a T1R aux board layered on top.

Lately, I have found the RC90 4500k (also known as L90 on KD or Yinding 9090) that comes in Amutorch XT60 to be a great warm thrower LED. Amutorch seems to be the only place I have found to get this particular 4500k bin. CCT is in 4000k-4500k range, and even though low CRI, the tint is still pretty reasonable, even though a tiny bit above BBL. Depending on the optics, it can look pretty decent, or if in a smooth reflector, a bit ugly. Max lumens output from Amutorch quoted as 3500. Despite, beam intensity seems comparable to SBT90, so comparable throw.

I also tried out different Gaggione optic samples. The LLC59RF seemed to work best for both the SBT90 and RC90, giving more throw than stock optics, while minimizing ringiness in the beam. Throw seems comparable to an SBT90 DM11 in this setup.

Until a mythical SFT70 4000k happens, this seems like a pretty good compromise. More top lumens than SFT70, same-ish intensity, comparable tint to the SFT40 4000k, but low CRI. Not displeased with this mod and performance is pretty great. It’s a tossup between this and my DM11 version, but this has charging and better driver.
