Got one of Vosteed’s new Ankylos and it’s been in my pocket at the workshop over the past few weeks.
It’s got a blacked-out 154CM 3.18″ blade, green anodized aluminium scales, black/bronze hardware and their new Vanchor Lock.
It has 4 different ways of opening (front and rear flipper, thumb slot and button) which gives you 7 different ways to deploy it if you get creative.

🔒 The lock is definitely the focal point of the knife for me- it’s one of the first button locks to get the button as the pivot. Vosteed have gotten around the pivot issue by magnetically holding the pivot button to a lock bar that protrudes THROUGH the tang of the knife when locked, so when unlocked the lock bar is pushed out of the way leaving a round pivot for the blade to swing closed on.

‼️ The handle is quite big considering the length of the blade, there’s a lot of real estate to find a comfortable grip but there’s no spot that my hand felt drawn to. My hand’s easily a size large so consider that a pro or a con yourself.
I also would have liked the frag machining to continue further up the scales to the pivot but not further- using the rear flipper would be nicer with the frag grip under your thumb but it would also leave the top clear for swiping as you use the front flipper. Not an issue, just a note.

✅️ It flicks and drops effortlessly, and there’s zero blade play or rock so far.
The lanyard tube is a generous size, the pocket clip is in a good position and doesn’t try to steal the show (ambidextrous to keep all the benefits of a button lock), and the fit & finish of this thing is really incredible. Unboxing the Ankylo was a very premium experience for a knife that cost a lot less than I thought it would have after handling it, and I can’t wait to use the shit out of it.
