While Ben was focused on beating the multitool on cost and Todd was focused on beating the multitool on weight, I was focused on beating the multitool on quality while still being pocketable.
Pictured above is my final kit, which comfortably fits in a 1.7 oz Viperade VE18-S small pouch measuring 5” x 3.5”. From the top:
* Three Swords Germany sapphire file in 3/8” heat shrink wrap tubing * Kai 4” 7100 professional scissors in 3/8″ heat shrink wrap tubing that has been melted to fit * 711L Lollipop bit driver * Knipex Cobra XS pliers * LeverGear Edge XT multifunction pry bar * Steinwhale Stubby 10 in 1 bit kit * 711L hex end ratchet * Steinwhale Stubby 10 in 1 bit extender * Uncle Bill Silver Gripper tweezers
Sapphire files are made of corundum which are just below diamond on the Mohs hardness scale. As such, they are great for nails as well as sharpening Victorinox level steel. See [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHbwTKMmys](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHbwTKMmys)
In my testing, the Kai 7100 scissors are better than any multitool scissor, and match my Klein 2100 electrician snips on everything but the thickest of ropes/paracords.
The 711L Lollipop bit driver is incredible. The spinning top (which allows you to adjust your hand position like an in-line ratchet or simply spin the cylinder when screws are loosened) pulls out into an L handle for leverage. Does not accept Wiha double-sided bits or Leatherman bits. You’d need a bit adapter/extender for those.
Not much to be said about the Cobras that hasn’t been said already.
The LeverGear Edge XT has a retractable exacto blade in addition to a number of other features that I find replaces and exceeds everything on a Victorinox Companion opener layer.
The 16 Steinwhale bits cover everything I need. Never seen a better all in one set.
The hex end ratchet works great with the Lollipop if I need a lot of leverage.
The Steinwhale bit extender DOES take Wiha double sided bits and some of the Leatherman bits in addition to the Steinwhale bits of course.
Finally, the Uncle Bills are legendary for a reason.
All told, this kit and pouch weigh 9.9 oz and fit easily and comfortably in a back pocket.

Inspired by Ben Vallack ( [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXVJXCpI1Lo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXVJXCpI1Lo) ) and Todd Parker ( [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3hIf5tTwbI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3hIf5tTwbI) ), I set out to build a pocket toolkit to rival my favorite Victorinox and Leathermen multitools.
