u/jdorian1803 sent me a partially modded S1R II to see if I could figure out why it was only running at a very low output. This is often a sign of a damaged sense resistor, and it’s not uncommon in Olight modding because a driver short usually takes out the sense resistor. After digging it out of the encapsulant, it was obvious the resistor was blown. I ordered a replacement and swapped it in, and the light works perfectly again.
I also swapped the LED to a new MCPCB, since the original was pretty chewed up and I have lots of spares from past mods.
