I don’t smoke (quit in 1996) and rarely need or carry a lighter. I did get a cheap Zippo for camping trips but I guess I was so inexperienced with them that my Zippo seemed to dry up before I could use it.
Amazon had (I think still does) have these USB rechargeable “plasma” inserts (legit Zippo) for around $14 that slide right into a regular Zippo.
I can now keep this in my car/go bag and not worry about it drying out.

I have an electric lighter like this, not a Zippo but a handy tool. Only problem is how long they take to work sometimes, but in the right conditions it’s a lifesaver
