I just don’t get it. How on earth they think is safe for general consumers?
I know for us, weirdo, we know and aware how dangerous it is. But for general consumer, this is really dangerous. Their 21700 battery has a plastic around the positive terminal which is a lot safer than their 18650.
Presumably they have short circuit protection, although it’s not like similarly questionable batteries haven’t been around for ages. 9v Lithium primaries exist and probably get nice and spicy when you short those too.

Ya they have protection. Also, they’re not meant to be regularity taken out. They don’t come out to charge, so they’re left in

I believe Olight batteries have internal protection. What is dangerous are the raw cells we all use. In my opinion even many popular flashlights here are quite dangerous, either with none or poorly implemented reverse polarity protection, fet drive, no hardware low voltage or over current protection etc. There is a reason why power tools or camera battery packs are so much more expensive than raw cells.

People wear seatbelts and most cars have airbags yet people still die in crashes…I could say the exact same thing about driving a vehicle
