Is that normal with this light? It has a pretty noticeable yellow spot in the center, donut hole, as I learned they’re called?

Up close you can see it very well and there’s a petal pattern:

But there’s of course also a spot at usable distances. It was near impossible for me to make a good picture of a hotspot with a phone camera, but here:

Sorry, very hard to see. The discoloration and intensity change is much more clear in person and it’s super obvious when moving the beam around. The artifact doesn’t seem to be centered, the dark and yellow parts move around when I rotate the light on its axis.

It looks pretty ugly and I assume that would compromise its effectiveness as a self-defense light if there’s a dead zone right in the center.

Is this normal with this kind of light? Do I have a bad specimen?
