I’ve seen talk lately of eye safety whem using UV flashlights. Well, this Lumintop Tool AA of mine had the LED damaged when the centering ring came loose (my fault), so I took it apart to slice off the rest of the dome and here’s what it looks like now: a deep purplish blue. It is a Nichoa 219C. So, how do I know what wavelength of light this is. Is there some kind of translation from CCT to NM or am I way off? I wouldn’t mind to have this to play around with in the house but not if it is unsafe. The 2nd and 3rd photos are Opple readings.

    😂

    Only damaging to your ego!

  2. That sort of emitter damage gets you visible blue. Annoying, but not dangerous. Yeah, there’s a tiny bit of UV in there, but so much less than sunlight that I only mention it because it’s not *actually* zero.
